What do you know about the economic and standard industry levels of the encoder?

A coder is a device that compiles signals,such as bitstream,or data,into a form of signaling that can be communicated,transmitted,and stored.According to the usage,the coder can be divided into commercial and chip grade,economy grade,standard industrial grade,all kinds of special industrial use level.

Commercial and chip levels:

Internal encoder,such as printers,card machine structure is simple,a lot of shells,almost don't have to talk about temperature,dustproof,waterproof,and electromagnetic compatibility,the price is very cheap.Chip level:the price is very low,at present abroad some semiconductor chip manufacturers to provide,or simple encapsulation of downstream manufacturer,no shells or simple case,power supply and signal only simple processing,factory is suitable for the development of secondary circuit,receiving circuit from the encoder should not be more than 50 cm,some flow meter,electric valve manufacturer chooses the class,the class of the encoder protection and emc anti-interference,should by the secondary development of manufacturers to take into account,if you don't understand,more easily damaged.

Economy and industry:

Economic level has simple encapsulation and simple processing,suitable for single machine equipment,such as embroidery machine,but the economic level is compared with the industrial economy,the characteristics of its design and material selection are positioned on the economical and practical,is not suitable for large equipment,assembly line and engineering projects,and industrial design,material selection and test are in accordance with the requirements of standard industrial,suitable for all kinds of industrial equipment,assembly line and engineering projects,two kinds of typical difference of level,from the appearance and parameters on the table to see the difference is as follows:

1.The bearing

Economic level of the shaft bearing as the single bearing,(some don't have to ball bearing of chip level),some of the economic level of bearing external is fixed by the clip,you can see the circlip(pictured),some more clever,bearing cover the circlip,adding a parts of the single bearing in use after a period of time,due to the single bearing support,it would be difficult to ensure accuracy of natural,sealing is worse.The industrial grade is the double ball bearing structure,the multi-balance support point,the precision of the shaft,the anti-impact,the sealing is high.Double bearing structure,the axis of the machining precision and installation accuracy requirement is very high,because if precision is not enough,because of the interaction of two bearings,turn up there is the feeling of"card",so take a pivot,can also feel the precision of shaft.Oddly,some nominal"high precision"of the encoder,bearing is bearing method,the"precision"in use for a long time,I don't know is how to guarantee.


2.Shell encapsulation

Shell encapsulation economic level depends on the three screws(on the shell outer diameter of the encoder as three screws,due to the jacking screws,cylindrical caused slight deformation and not round,affect the sealing performance),as the shell of no screws,seal is extrusion+a sealed type O sealing ring.Some users think the work environment has no dust or water vapor.How can they be damaged?Actually encoder in use,there must be the change of the start-up and shut-down,due to the heat bilges cold shrink caused by the temperature difference between inside and outside differential pressure,protection grade differential encoder,will produce"breathing"water vapor,due to the pressure difference water vapour inhalation encoder,because of the accumulation of time and damage to optical components and electrical wiring,affect the use,or damage to the encoder is typically used for a period of time is allowed to or signal is not stable.While some coders use problems at higher temperatures,they think it's a temperature problem,but it's a leak-proof problem.

3.The temperature rating

The average of the economy is-10 degrees to 60 degrees,usually not more than 70 degrees,while industrial grade work temperature is usually minus 20 to 70 degrees,and it is 25 to 80 degrees below zero.Temperature level actually reflects the internal parts choose the level that you want to know,the temperature of the general level of civil electronic parts mostly to 55 or 60 degrees,and to 70 degrees above the optimal level of industrial components will often expensive one times above,different levels is not only a problem of temperature,and the failure probability of reflects its in use.The wide range is not only applicable to these extreme temperature ranges,but also the ability to withstand temperature shocks.Some users think that use the environment to these temperature limit range,55 degrees is enough,but they overlook the boot shutdown temperature such as shock wave may damage to the device,as well as the failure probability of the internal chip.

Output signal and power supply

Most of the output of the economy is the PNP or NPN of the collector's circuit,which has no polarity protection or short circuit protection,and the collector open circuit is unilateral non-equilibrium.Anti-interference and signal is far from being transmitted.In some cases,especially engineering,it is not applicable.The output of the industrial level is push-pull(both PNP and NPN),or the balanced output of the difference drive,or other standard industrial signals.For example,SSI signals,some of which are also labeled SSI,but that is not the SSI of the standard industrial-grade RS422,and it's not right to buy them back;The industrial-grade power supply is 10-30vdc,long distance pressure attenuation is not affected,and the signal line is usually short circuit protection.Many industrial field power supply will be a short moments of unstable,wide power supply is very important to ensure that the encoder work is not affected,and short circuit protection can avoid polarity engineering and repair the wrong line,contingency and damage the encoder.

Electromagnetic compatibility

Economic level of electromagnetic compatibility level is not high,almost no for this special design,and industrial electromagnetic compatibility EMC typically achieve level 2 above,(must have a inspection standard and provide a certificate),including surge,standards such as rapid bursts,static testing,the indicators,relationship to the encoder in the complex environment of the electrical stability work.

6.The internal parts

The internal components can not be seen from the appearance and the parameter list,the industrial grade is often integrated,the modular high,the circuit board laminar welding,has three prevention treatment.

Program detection and standard and final cost

Standard industrial encoders,due to the structure design and selection of parts,spare parts cost is likely to be several times more than the cost of economic level encoder,coupled with the test procedures and standards are higher than the economic level,so the industrial-grade encoder is much higher than the cost of the economy.

Class of special industrial use:such as explosion-proof grade,car electronic grade,high temperature scale(greater than 100 degree),anti-flooding grade,overloading grade and so on.
